Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier has been sent back to Los Angeles to have his left ankle examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache and could miss the first round of the playoffs.

Ethier has not recovered as the team had hoped from his sprained ankle and Dodgers manager Don Mattingly admits that he’s worried the outfielder might not be available for the first round of the playoffs.
Ethier has not started a game since Sept. 13.
