Brandon Beachy will not throw for ten days.The advise to take some time off comes from Dr. James Andrews after Beachy was forced to the disabled list on Friday with inflammation.
After taking the time off the 26-year-old right hander will again visit Andrews.
Beachy underwent Tommy John surgery last June and had worked his way back to the big league level.
The Braves have replaced Beachy in the rotation with Paul Maholm.
Beachy made five starts between July 29 and Aug. 20 going 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. Beachy had pitched six or more innings in each of his last four starts.
