Wandy Rodriguez has experienced more pain in his left forearm and will visit Dr. James Andrews next week.
The chances of Rodriguez returning to the field are slim this season and now the Pirates left hander is hoping simply to avoid Tommy John surgery.

Rodriguez, 34, has a $13 million player option for 2014. The Pirates are responsible for $7.5 million of that option.
In 12 starts for the Pirates this season, Rodriguez was 6-4 with a 3.59 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP.
