The Atlanta Braves have lost second baseman Tyler Pastornicky for the rest of the 2013 season with a torn left ACL.

Pastornicky, 23, was expected to see a lengthy look at second base with Dan Uggla on the disabled list for LASIK eye surgery. Instead the Braves will now be forced to play Paul Janish at second.

The injury occurred in Wednesday nights game when Pastornicky was involved in a collision with outfielder Jason Heyward on a popup.

Pastornicky is expected to be healthy and ready to go for the start of spring training.
