Brad Lidge to sign one-day contract to retire in Phillies uniform

Brad Lidge spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies. On Thursday the former Phillies closer will sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the team.

Lidge, 36, announced in December that he planned to retire.

In his 11 year career Lidge pitched for Houston, Philadelphia and Washington.

Lidge was a key part of the 2008 Phillies who won the World Series finishing that year with 41 saves and a 1.95 ERA.
