The Washington Nationals have activated relief pitcher RYan Mattheus from the disabled list.
Mattheus, 29, has not pitched since May 19 after fracturing his right hand. The injury occurred when Mattheus punched his locker after a poor performance.
The Nationals will use Mattheus as the 26th man as part of a Friday double header against the Mets but he will remain with the big league club afterwards.
In 14 games this season Mattheus holds a 4.91 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.
