New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey will start the 2013 All-Star Game for the National League.

Harvey, 24, will throw the All-Star Games first pitches in Citi Field – home of the Mets.

In case you are wondering, Newsday reports Harvey will be the first pitcher to start the All-Star Game at his home stadium since 2003, when Esteban Loaiza — then with the Chicago White Sox — started at U.S. Cellular Field.

The decision to start Harvey was an easy one for NL manager Bruce Bochy after the right hander compiled a 2.35 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP over his 130 innings of work this year.
