Lance Berkman was able to avoid the disabled list for his knee but the 37-year-old injured his hip in Saturday’s game.
Berkman, 37, lunged towards first base while trying to beat out a double play against Houston. Officially the Rangers have listed Berkman with hip inflammation.
Whether or not this could spell the return of Manny Ramirez to the major leagues remains to be seen.
On the season Berkman holds a .254/.355/.377 line with 6 home runs and 34 RBI.
