Dodgers place Carl Crawford on the disabled list

On Monday, Carl Crawford became the latest Dodger to hit the disabled list. Crawford was placed on the DL with a left hamstring strain, according to CBS Sports. Stephan Fife has been recalled to take his spot on the active roster.

Crawford’s stint on the DL will be retroactive to June 2, but According to J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News, manager Don Mattingly expects Crawford to miss “a couple of weeks.”

Crawford is batting a productive .301/.358/.470 this season with five homers and nine stolen bases.

He will join eight other team mates on the DL including,  Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez, Josh Beckett, A.J. Ellis and Chad Billingsley.

Ramirez is expected to be activated on Tuesday. Top prospect Yasel Puig was just recalled to play in the outfield.
