Keith Hernandez had been in front of the microphone for years. On Monday the former big leaguer turned announcer made an on-air gaffe.
When Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes induced a broken bat chopper off the bat of Lyle Overbay the on-air personality compared the broken bat to a dead soldier.
It was a poor choice of words by Hernandez who is known for pitching products such as Just For Men. A spokesperson said that SNY would address the issue with Hernandez.
