The Seattle Mariner have called up infield prospect Nick Franklin. Franklin, 22, has been playing well for the Mariners Triple-A team in Tacoma.
While with Tacoma, Franklin has a .324/.440/.472 line with four home runs and seven stolen bases in 39 games.
In order to make room for Franklin on the 25-man roster the Mariners have sent Dustin Ackley to Triple-A. Ackey was in a 0-for-19 slump and was batting just .205 on the season.
Franklin can play both second base and shortstop.
