The New York Mets considered bringing up relief pitcher Frank Francisco to the active roster when Jeurys Familia hit the disabled list. After consideration the Mets opted to keep Francisco on his rehab assignment.
This weekend Francisco will be moved up to the Double-A level after five scoreless innings with the Mets High-A team.
Francisco’s maximum 30-day rehab assignment expires Thursday, so he should be activated in a matter of days.
