Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ was hit in the left ear by a line drive off the bat of Tampa Bay batter Desmond Jennings.
Blood ran down Happ’s face and he was attended to by trainers for nearly seven minutes before being taken off on a stretcher.
The good news is that Happ appears to wave at fans as he exits the field. Instances like this are a reminder that batted balls can be very dangerous.
