Brian McCann will remain on a rehab assignment through the end of the week before being activated for a road series in Atlanta. The All-Star catcher has a .273/.385/.909 line and a pair of home runs during his rehab assignment.
“I’ll be ready,” McCann said. “Where I’m at right now, I feel really good.”
McCann is underwent shoulder surgery during the offseason and also dealt with a wrist issue recently.
The Braves currently have been playing Evan Gattis regularly behind the plate. Atlanta plans to keep Gattis and Gerald Laird on the roster. Gattis could move to the outfield for some playing time with Jason Heyward out of the lineup after having an appendectomy.
