Red Sox could activate Lackey for Sunday start


The Boston Red Sox could activate pitcher John Lackey from the disabled list on Sunday to make a start against the Houston Astros. Lackey pitched at a Double-A game on Monday going 3 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out five.

Lackey has been sidelined since suffering a right biceps strain in his first start of the season.

Th 34-year-old Lackey lasted just 4 1/3 innings in his first start of the year before suffering the injury. He missed all of 2012 after requiring Tommy John surgery.
