The Texas Rangers have placed Opening Day starter Matt Harrison on the disabled list with a lower back strain.

Harrison was expected to miss his next start but will now miss multiple starts as the Rangers have chosen to play it safe and let him rest. The team has called up Justin Grimm to take his place in the rotation for Thursdays game against Seattle.

After two starts this season Harrison is 0-2 8.44 ERA and a 1.97 WHIP. Last season he led the Rangers with 18 wins which earned him the start on Opening Day.
