The New York Yankees plan to have Derek Jeter in their Opening Day lineup, even if the 38-year-old is listed as their designated hitter.
Jeter is working his way back from an ankle injury he suffered in the 2012 post season.
Should Jeter be listed as the Yankees designated hitter on Opening Day that would place Eduardo Nunez at short stop.
The Yankees will host the Boston Red Sox on April 1 to start the season. Jon Lester is expected to start for the Red Sox.
