The World Baseball Classic finally saw some life on Saturday as a bench clearing brawl took place between Team Canada and Team Mexico. Up 9-3 in the ninth inning, a Canadian player bunted for a hit. Luis Cruz was caught off guard by the play and instructed pitcher Arnold Leon to hit the next batter.

Ledo missed on his first attempt and got a warning from the home plate umpire. Nonetheless he connected on his next try and the benches cleared.

Normally bunting while up by six runs is frowned upon in baesball but the World Baseball Classic puts an emphasis on run differential due to the small among of games.

Canada would score another rand win by a 10-3 score.
