Russell Martin seeks four year deal worth $9 million annually

Russell Martin wants a four-year deal worth $9-10 million annually reports ESPN New York. There is a plethora of teams interested in the catcher who played for the New York Yankees last season.  When the off season began including Boston, Texas, Pittsburgh, and Seattle all expressed some level of interest in Martin as did his most recent employer.

Martin is joined by former Texas catcher Mike Napoli in seeking a four year deal. While a four year deal may happen for both players the stumbling block will be the price tag.

The catcher who will turn 30 before the season starts hit .211/.311/.403. He set a career high with 21 home runs.
