Jeff Keppinger breaks fibula falling down stairs

It is a fear of many and for Jeff Keppinger it is one that may have a negative impact on his future income. The 32-year-old infielder fell down the stairs at his home CBS Sports has reported.

In the fall Keppinger broke his right fibula; the fibula is a bone in the calf of the leg.

Keppinger is hoping to be ready to resume baseball activities in January after suffering what has been termed a small break. The eight year veteran is at home recovering.

Last season Keppinger hit .325/.367/.439 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 2012 for the Rays.
