Joey Logano Will Drive No.22 Penske Racing Ford in 2013

Joey Logano, current driver of the No.20 Home Depot Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) will be leaving JGR and heading to Penske Racing in 2013 both the Charlotte Observer and ThatsRacin have reported.
Logano won his second Sprint Cup Series race this year and leads all drivers in the Nationwide Series with six wins. He will be leaving the organization that gave birth to him. This leads the way for the Matt Kenseth to JGR announcement that is expected tomorrow, in which Kenseth will be taking over the No.20 Home Depot ride in 2013.

An official announcement of Logano’s move to Penske could come as early as Tuesday, multiple sources confirmed.

Sam Hornish Jr. has been driving the No.22 Penske Dodge since former driver A.J. Allmendinger was released by the team after being indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for failing a random drug test. Logano would be the fourth driver in the No. 22 in less than two seasons.

  1. Glad to see Penske going to Ford and Joey Logano going to Penske to drive the #22 car I hope with the backing of Penns Oil. Give Joey a good crew chief and watch that Penns Oil car shine. Bad when a car owner and driver throws his helmet and doesn’t get fined. Bet if one of the Bursh brothers threw their helmet would have been fined and probation. NASCAR get your act together or you will have more seats available. GOOD LUCK JOEY LOGANO from EVIL ROY SLADE
