Oakland Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr suffered a concussion on Friday night.
Carr left the field with what was believed to be a rib injury but Raiders head coach Dennis Allen revealed after the game that the concern was with the rookies head. He will now be subject to the NFL’s concussion testing protocol.
In a surprising twist, Allen says Derek Carr came out of the game with a concussion and not a ribs injury. #Raiders

This far Carr was 19-of-32 for 183 yards with a touchdown and an interception this preseason.
Carr had been ticketed for backup duty to open the season but could replace starter Matt Schaub at some point. Schaub had another down game on Friday going 8-of-13 for 87 yards while tossing an interception.
