When the Chicago Bears signed former Notre Dame standout Jimmy Clausen many gasped.
A recent report by ESPN Chicago’s Michael C. Wright is not likely to make those people feel any better.
Wright say that “Jimmy Clausen quickly gained ground on Jordan Palmer at the club’s veteran minicamp and appears poised to unseat the latter for the No. 2 job behind Cutler.”
David Fales is also on the Bears roster but he is being looked at for the long-term.
Marc Trestman’s scheme helped Josh McCown put up big numbers with Jay Culter out however expecting those same results from Clausen or Palmer may be just too much.
Clausen, 26, did not play at all in 2013 after losing out on the backup job in Carolina to Derek Anderson.
