Free agent tight end Tony Scheffler has retired after eight seasons in the NFL.
The 31-year-old Scheffler has suffered there concussions over the past four seasons and was released by the Detroit Lions in October.
Drafted No. 61 overall in 2006, Scheffler played for the Denver Broncos before joining the Lions.
He had 258 receptions for 3,207 yards and 22 touchdowns in his eight-year career.
