Chuck Pagano’s doctor gave some encouraging news on Monday about the status of Indianapolis Colts coach.
“Dr. Larry Cripe told The Associated Press on Monday that Pagano’s white blood cell count was normal and his bone marrow showed no indication of the disease.” (WSBT)
The Colts moved to 5-3 on the season following a thrilling win against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Following the game Pagano gave an emotional speech to the Colts locker room.
Interim coach Bruce Arians said that the Colts were hoping to have Pagano return to the sidelines for their final game of the season on Dec. 30. The Colts are 4-1 in five games during Pagano’s time away.
Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia on Sept. 26 and remained in an Indianapolis hospital until Oct. 21 as doctors treated him with chemotherapy.
While Dr. Cripe is encouraged about the state of Pagano the Colts coach will undergo a second round of chemotherapy to ensure that there are no cancerous cells in his body.
