Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro left Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Royals with an injury.
Castro appeared to be injured when he slid into second base. He was removed prior to the start of the second inning with Javier Baez taking over his position.
Baez replaces Castro at short to open top of second. Awaiting word on reason. Castro may have gotten hurt on slide into second in 1st.

Castro, 23, is being counted on to improve his .245/.284/.347 line from last season. His power numbers and stolen bases were down and some believe his step back was a key in the firing of former manager Dale Sveum,
