Andrew Bailey blew his second consecutive save on Thursday night – and his third over his last five attempts – which was enough for Red Sox manager John Farrel to pull the plug.
Entering the ninth inning the Red Sox held a 3-2 lead but Bailey quickly coughed it up when Jhonny Peralta hit a two-run home run to give the Tigers a 4-3 win.

In 24 gamest his season Bailey has a 4.03 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. He has saved 8 games for the Red Sox and has been charged with four blown saves.
Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara could both be in line for save opportunities as the Red Sox will seek an internal option.
