Peter Moylan retires from baseball

After 12 seasons Peter Moylan has retired according to The Athletic.

Moylan, 40, spent nine seasons with the Braves. His retirement ends one of baseballs odd tales of how guys have made it to the majors.

A pharmaceutical rep, Moylan was discovered by the Braves during the World Baseball Classic. He had been vocal on social media about how difficult it had been for veterans to secure contracts this offseason.

Moylan plans to pitch in Italy and is considering an attempt to pitch for Australia in the next Olympics.

In 418 2/3 innings of work Moylan finishes with a 3.10 ERA in 499 games.
