The Baltimore Orioles are interested in re-signing pitcher Johan Santana.

Santana was attempting to make a comeback from shoulder surgery last year when he tore his Achilles tendon. It was a tough blow for Santana who was close to returning to the big leagues. The 35-year-old is not quite ready to hang it up with his agent recently saying that Santana was “hellbent on coming back.”

The Orioles and others will watch Santana throw soon. It is hard to imagine him getting more than a minor league deal and his ultimate signing may be linked to where he believes he has the best chance of seeing time in the rotation.

Santana has not pitched at the big league level since 2012 and has made just 75 starts dating back to the start of the 2009 season. In his career he owns a 139-78 record to go with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP.
