The Atlanta Braves have released relief pitcher Cory Gearrin.
Gearrin, 28, had been in the Braves bullpen from 2011-13 posting a 4.28 ERA with 68 strikeouts over 69 1/3 innings. He underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the entire 2014 season.
It is possible the Braves could bring him back on a minor league contract and allow him to work though his recovery but that is far from a given.
