The Tampa Bay Rays have exercised the 2015 option on Ben Zobrist.
Zobrist, 33, will make $7.5 million this coming season in the final year of his contract. Given the Rays needs and his future free agency, it would not be a complete shock if the Rays traded Zobrist this spring.
Zobrist appeared in 146 games last season hitting .272/.354/.395 with 10 home runs and 52 RBI. HIs ability to play across the diamond and get on base continue to make Zobrist a valuable major league player.
