Wade LeBlanc realled from Salt Lake in wake of Garrett Richards injury

With the loss of starting pitcher Garrett Richards on Wednesday night in Boston, the Los Angeles Angels have recalled Wade LeBlanc from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Richards is likely to be announced out for the rest of the 2014 season after suffering a knee injury while attempting to cover first base.

The 30-year-old LeBlanc has two appearances this season, one each for the New York Yankees and Angels. The journeyman has also made major league stops in San Diego, Miami and Houston during his parts of seven seasons at the big league level.

LeBlanc immediately becomes an option to replace Richards in the rotation for the time-being. In 21 starats at Salt Lake he was 10-3 with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP.

The Angels have also recalled Cam Bedrosian from Salt Lake. Bedrosian ownsa 7.59 ERA, 1.97 WHIP, and 11/7 K/BB ratio in 10 2/3 innings this season at the major league level. He is expected to fill out the Angels bullpen and be used sporadically.
