Alex Rodriguez’s one-year ban will end at the end of the 2014 season at which time he will return to the New York Yankees says owner Hal Steinbrenner.
“That’s what he’s planning for. And that’s what we’re planning for,” Steinbrenner said on Wednesday, via CBS New York.
Rodriguez, 39, has $61 million owed to him by the Yankees and Steinbrenner opted to promote the hard work the former star has been putting in.
“He’s fit,” Steinbrenner said. “Alex is a hard worker. Alex will be ready. We’ll just have to go from there, see how he does, see how he responds to playing every day in spring training. Point is, he’s in good shape. And that’s not surprising.”
