The Los Angeles Angels are targeting starting pitcher Ian Kennedy as the July 31 trade deadline approaches reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
Kennedy, 29, is currently a member of the San Diego Padres. Though the first half of the season he has a 3.47 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 133/34 K/BB ratio though 124 1/3 innings of work.
The left hander is arbitration eligible though 2015 so he will not come cheap for the Angels.
Of course Kennedy is not the only player on the Padres roster that the Angels have interest in. They are also interested in Padres closer Huston Street who was recently named to the NL All-Star team.
Street is 24-for-25 in save chances this season.
