The Minnesota Twins have been busy this offesason adding pitchers Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes. Now the team is turning its focus to adding a catcher.
Joe Mauer will move to first base for the 2014 season leaving the spot behind the plate empty. One name the Twins are being linked to is A.J. Pierzynski who played with the club from 1998-2003.
A one year deal would be enough to sign Pierzynski who played under the same terms last season when he produced a .272/.297/.425 line with 17 home runs and 70 RBI for the Texas Rangers.
In ten of the last 12 season Pierzynski has appeared in 130 or more games. In the two season that Pierzusnki appeared in less then 130 games he played in 128 and 129.
