Lance Berkman has not played in a game since July 6 and may not do so for the rest of the season but that does not mean he is retiring.
Rumors began circulating ahead of yesterday’s MLB trade deadline that Berkman, 37, was considering retirement forgetting roughly $4 million in salary remaining on his one-year deal with the Texas Rangers
Those rumors are untrue reports FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.

Berkman has a .254/.355/.377 line this season with six home runs and 34 RBI.
