The Los Angeles Angels have lost reliever Sean Burnett for the rest of the season. Burnett, 30, had made just 13 appearances after signing with the Angels this past offseason.
Burnett was given a two-year deal worth $8 million to sign with the Angels this offseason after spending the last four years with the Washington Nationals.
#Angels LHP Sean Burnett out for the season. Surgery possible. Not Tommy John. More to come.

Instead of being a key part of the Angels bullpen Burnett made only 13 appearances, last pitching on May 26.
Recent reports suggested that Burnett was getting ready to try throwing off the mound but today the Angels ruled him out for the rest of the season. The good news is that Burnett will not require Tommy John surgery which suggests he should be ready to go by spring training next year.
