The Atlanta Braves have placed outfielder Jordan Schafer on the disabled list. Schafer suffered a right ankle contusion on Wednesday, the result of a foul ball.
In order to fill his roster spot the Braves have promoted Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A. Terdoslavich, 24, has hit .318/.359/.567 with 18 homers and 58 RBI in 85 games this season at Gwinnett.
With Freddie Freeman, Justin Upton, B.J. Upton and Jason Heyward all healthy there does not figure to be many at-bats for Terdoslavich currently.
Schafer had been a nice piece for the Braves to have. Since making the team out of spring training the 26-year-old has compiled a .312/.399/.464 line with the Braves while playing all three outfield postions. Once healthy he should return to the teams bench.
