Veteran reliever Jamey Wright has agreed to a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays. Wright, 38, spent last season as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Wright will look to pitch in his 18th season by winning a job in the Rays bullpen. Last season he had success in a similar arrangement with the Dodgers finishing with a 3.72 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP in 67 2/3 innings of work.

Should Wright make the Rays it will be his sixth different team in as many seasons.

Tampa Bay also signed Juan Carlos Oviedo to a minor league deal. Ovideo previously was known as Leo Nunez. He will not figure into the Rays plans as he will spend much of the season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery in September.
