Werth homers, Nationals walk off for Game 4 win

The Washington Nationals walked off with a win in Game 4 of the ALDS. A home run by Jayson Werth provided the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

The crowd was loud for the whole game at Nationals Park but erupted in a cheer when Werth unloaded a blast off of Cardinals reliever Lance Lynn.

In what was a well pitched game on both sides runs were scare. Adam LaRoach hit a home run in the bottom of the second to give the Nationals an early 1-0 lead. A sac fly by Carlos Beltran in the top of the third scored Pete Kozma to knot the score.

Nationals pitcher Ross Detweiler pitched six innings and allowed the only three hits the Cardinals would manage on the day. Jordan Zimmerman, Tyler Clippard and Drew Storen each pitched an inning.

Game 5 will take place in Washington tomorrow night.
