Bronson Arroyo leads shut out of Giants, gives Reds 2-0 Series lead

Bronson Arroyo was nothing but spot on and stellar in tonight’s NLDS game against the San Francisco Giants. The Cincinnati Reds scored nine runs to cruise to the victory taking Game 2 of the five game series.

Arroyo pitched 7 innings allowing just a single to Brandon Belt. JJ Hoover pitched the eighth while Jose Arredondo came in to pitch the ninth with the Reds comfortably in the lead.

Ryan Ludwick hit a home run off of Giants starter Madison Bumgarner in the second inning. They scored three more runs int he fourth off of singles by Scott Rolen and Ryan Hanigan.

The Reds were back to scoring in the eighth. Jay Bruce doubled in two runs while Hanigan drove him in two batters later.Drew Stubbs would triple to score Hanigan while Brandon Phillips continued his hot series by doubling in Stubbs to push the score to 9-0.

It was not until the bottom of the ninth that the Giants got their second hit of the game on a double by Pablo Sandoval.

The series will not shift to Cincinnati where the Reds will look to close it out.
