Enzo Fittipaldi notched his third race win of the season pulling within 7 points of Tymek Kucharczyk for the Indy NXT championship after 11 of 17 races.
Fittipaldi scored the pole for this race as well as tomorrow’s part of the double header and was largely unchallenged in the race while the rest of the filed set a record for most on track passes in track history.
Multiple yellow flags were displayed in Saturday’s Indy NXT race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Couse. Drivers had trouble staying on the 2.258-mile course as the tight corners proved to be a challenge for the series.
Fittipaldi’s grandfater, Emeerson, was a three time winner at the track in the NTT IndyCar Series.
TeamHMD finished the race with the top four drivers of the day.
The series will race again on Sunday at 10:00 am with coverage appearing on FS1.
