Zane Smith returning to Front Row Motorsports

Zane Smith will remain behind the wheel of the No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse after signing a multi-year contract extension with Front Row Motorsports (FRM).

The 26-year-old Huntington Beach, California native is nearing the end of his second full-time NASCAR Cup Series season, during which he has recorded three top-five finishes, ten top-10s, and one pole award. Smith began his Cup career in 2024 with Spire Motorsports, driving the No. 71, before returning to FRM this season under Crew Chief Ryan Bergenty.

“We’ve had our share of ups and downs this year, but I feel like we’ve built something strong heading into 2026,” said Smith. “Front Row has always felt like home — the people here, both at the track and in the shop, make this place special. I’m excited about the future and ready to keep building together.”

Smith’s history with FRM dates back to 2022, when he piloted the team’s No. 38 Ford F-150 in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. That season was one of the most dominant in his career, as he earned four wins, 14 top-five finishes, 492 laps led, and both the regular-season and overall Truck Series championships, clinching the title with a victory at Phoenix Raceway.

He returned to the No. 38 truck in 2023, successfully defending his wins at Daytona and Circuit of the Americas, and finishing seventh in the final driver standings.

That same year, Smith made his first Daytona 500 start — and his second career Cup Series appearance — with FRM. After qualifying in as an open entry, he impressed with a 13th-place finish and later earned his first Cup Series top-10, finishing tenth in the Coca-Cola 600, one of NASCAR’s most prestigious races.
