Brenden “Butterbean” Queen kicked off a packed weekend in dominant fashion with a wire-to-wire win in Friday’s General Tire 150 at Dover Motor Speedway, the first of four combination events for the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East this season.
From the drop of the green flag, Queen was in control, leading every lap to claim his fourth victory of the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season — and his first in the East Series.
Despite the convincing result, Queen’s race wasn’t without adversity. Midway through the event, he battled a broken track bar, but his team addressed the issue during the second race break. Once repairs were made, Queen quickly returned to form and cruised to Victory Lane.
“This team is just bad to the bone,” Queen said. “I thought it was over. I never give up, but something broke there. These guys figured it out and got it fixed. Just a bad to the bone race car tonight.”
Queen’s primary challenger, Brent Crews, was eliminated early after a crash caused by a flat tire. That allowed Queen to approach the rest of the race conservatively while diagnosing his car’s issues.
Camden Murphy, making his ARCA Menards Series debut with Nitro Motorsports, put pressure on Queen during the second stage. But Queen managed to hold the lead with his wounded car through the second race break. Once PRG made the necessary repairs and Murphy lost track position on two consecutive restarts, Queen found his rhythm again and pulled away over the final 40 laps, eventually building nearly a straightaway lead by the finish. Murphy recovered to take second.
Queen’s win also gave him a big points boost. Closest title rivals Lavar Scott and Lawless Alan both suffered tire issues during the race, dropping several laps down and losing valuable ground in the standings.
Next on Queen’s schedule is one of the year’s premier Late Model Stock events: the Hampton Heat at his home track, Langley Speedway. The defending Hampton Heat champion, Queen heads into the second round of the Virginia Late Model Triple Crown with serious momentum and a new piece of hardware in tow.
“I told [my team] I wanted to bring a Monster back to Hampton for the Heat tomorrow night,” Queen said. “That bad boy is going on a road trip tonight.”
Rounding out the top five were Isabella Robusto, matching her career-best finish in third, and Isaac Kitzmiller, the ARCA East points leader, who passed Tyler Reif late to take fourth. Reif, who entered the race just six points behind Kitzmiller, finished fifth.
Timmy Hill, Jake Finch, Jason Kitzmiller, Zachary Tinkle, and Andrew Patterson completed the top 10.
The series returns next weekend for the LiUNA! 150 presented by Dutch Boy at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, another joint event between the national ARCA Menards Series and ARCA East. The race is set for Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET, with live coverage on FS1.
