Shane Van Gisbergen grabs pole for Chicago Street Course, Grant Park 165 Starting Lineup

Shane Van Gisbergen will start on the pole in Sunday’s running of the Grant Park 165.

Van Gisbergen made headlines when he scored a victory in his first career start at the street course in 2023. Prior to earning the Cup Series pole, the driver of the No. 88 machine earned the Xfinity Series pole for their Saturday race, The Loop 110.

The Chicago Street Course for the NASCAR Cup Series is a unique and challenging temporary circuit set in the heart of downtown Chicago. The 2.2-mile, 12-turn layout winds through iconic city streets, incorporating portions of Michigan Avenue, Columbus Drive, and Lake Shore Drive. Framed by landmarks like Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain, the course features tight corners, elevation changes, and limited runoff areas, demanding precision and skill from drivers. With its scenic backdrop and urban complexity, the Chicago Street Course offers a dramatic departure from traditional oval racing, blending high-speed competition with the vibrant energy of the city.

TNT will have coverage of the Grant Park 165 starting at 2:00 pm ET from the Chicago Street Course.
