The initial green was called off as cars in the back of the field lagged behind. Later Ayrton Hough and Ryan Giannetta would both go off into the grass but would get going again without a yellow.
Jeffers and Gafrarar would get around Schrage for the lead on the third lap of the race. Giannetta would bring the yellow out for an issue on lap five.
