Stewart Friesen ended a 72-race winless streak in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, capturing a dramatic victory at Michigan International Speedway in double overtime.
Friesen’s last win came in 2022 at Texas Motor Speedway, making this return to Victory Lane in the Irish Hills especially significant.
Rounding out the top five were Grant Enfinger, Luke Fenhaus, Ben Rhodes, and Corey LaJoie. Matt Crafton, Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith, Andrés Pérez de Lara, and Layne Riggs completed the top 10.
Corey Heim, who dominated early by winning the first two stages, finished 18th after getting caught in a major wreck during a late restart.
The race was red-flagged for nearly 20 minutes on Lap 88 after Nathan Byrd and Morgen Baird made hard contact with the Turn 3 wall. Racing resumed on Lap 90 once repairs were completed.
Last week’s Nashville winner, Rajah Caruth, saw his race end early after spinning into the Turn 2 wall on a Lap 77 restart. The Spire Motorsports driver had been working to recover from an unscheduled pit stop for a flat tire earlier in the race.
The Truck Series resumes Friday, June 20, at Pocono Raceway with the MillerTech Battery 200 (5 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
