Ryan Blaney finally avoids collapse to win at Nashville, Results

Ryan Blaney earned his first win of the season notching the win at Nashville Superspeedway. The win comes after Blaney had seen good runs spoiled late in races. Blaney becomes the ninth different winner of 2025 and the fifth different winner at Nashville since the Cup Series began racing at the track.

As polesitter Chase Briscoe cleared teammate Denny Hamlin to lead the opening laps of the race, AJ Allmendinger headed down pit road to serve a stop and go penalty for an inspection violation. Kyle Larson had began to move up though the field but after contact from Zane Smith found himself having to regroup from 36th.

While others pitted, Ryan Blaney moved to the front as he stayed out and ran laps comparable to those on fresh tires. Blaney would finally pit on lap 79 after being trapped behind lapped cars cycling Briscoe back to the lead. Numerous Toyota teams began to report brake issues during the closing laps of the first stage as Justin Haley’s late pitstop was thwarted by a speeding penalty. Hamlin would end up winning the stage.

After pitstops Blaney and Austin Cindric would assume the top spots after they took two tires due to their late stops. Ricky Stenhouse was spun off the nose of Carson Hocevar to bring out the first caution of the second stage. Noah Gragson would take substantial damage after Alex Bowman got loose and put him into the wall. Kyle Larson appeared to avoid any substantial damage as he tried to avoid the two. Contact between Erik Jones and Christopher Bell on the restart would return the race to yellow. On the restart Briscoe began to fall though the field as Larson had to pit for a loose wheel. Corey Heim would make contact with Brad Keselowski and spin into the frontstretch wall. Hamlin would lose the lead to Byron before Blaney passed both on lap 169. Blaney would win the second stage.

Logano would win the battle off pit road to start the third stage but the race went green for just a moment as a spinning Ryan Preece returned the race to caution. Blaney would take the lead on the restart. After spending the night working though the field, Hocevar found himself chasing after Blaney though lapped traffic with Hamlin behind him. Hamlin finished third in his 700th career start.

The win is the 14th of Blaney’s career.
