DGM Racing and Jesse Iwuji Motorsports (JIM) have announced that Jesse Iwuji will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series this weekend, piloting the No. 91 Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway. Supported by Chevrolet Accessories, Lincoln Electric, and the eRacing Association, this marks Iwuji’s first NXS start since 2023 and his first time moving from co-owner back to the driver’s seat under the newly formed DGM x JIM alliance.
The No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro will proudly feature a bold red, white, and blue paint scheme in honor of Iwuji’s service as a U.S. Naval Officer. A special highlight includes the National Memorial Day Parade logo on the doors of the car, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the parade, held annually in Washington, D.C. The parade, the largest Memorial Day event in the country, pays tribute to fallen military heroes and draws over 300,000 spectators and 10,000 participants from across the U.S.
“The DGM x JIM team has excellent drivers whom I enjoy cheering on and learning from,” said Iwuji. “I must admit, however, I’ve been looking forward to getting back behind the wheel and I have stayed ready for when an opportunity would present itself. It’s amazing to get back at such a storied track like Talladega Superspeedway where anything can happen.”
Iwuji’s connection with Chevrolet goes back to his time in active duty, where his passion for performance cars and motorsports took root. He eventually saved enough to purchase a few Corvettes, marking the beginning of his motorsports journey.
“It means the world to me to have Chevrolet Accessories on board as I make my first start with Mario Gosselin and the DGM x JIM team,” Iwuji continued. “Chevrolet has been with me almost every step of my racing career; their belief in me and their continued support is a great reminder of how hard I’ve worked to be back at the track and live out my racing dreams.”
Lincoln Electric and the eRacing Association will also support the effort. Lincoln Electric’s equipment plays a vital role in preparing the team’s Chevrolets, while the eRacing Association’s simulation platforms serve as an essential training tool for Iwuji—much like the simulators used by military service members.
“We’re really looking forward to Jesse’s debut with DGM x JIM at Talladega Superspeedway,” said Mario Gosselin, Owner of DGM Racing. “Joining forces with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports has been a seamless fit for our organization. With support from Chevrolet Accessories and Lincoln Electric, we’re proud to bring this special patriotic car to the track and join Jesse in honoring and remembering our fallen troops through the National Memorial Day Parade.”
Iwuji is set to participate in the parade for the third time and plans to bring one of the DGM x JIM Xfinity Series cars to Washington, D.C. to take part in the tribute.
The National Memorial Day Parade will air live at 2:00 p.m. ET on Monday, May 26 via YouTube and American Forces Network, and will be syndicated throughout June on major networks including ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX stations nationwide.
As the stars and stripes fly high at Talladega, Iwuji’s return represents more than a comeback—it’s a celebration of service, perseverance, and the enduring spirit of those who serve.
