Alex Palou won the first points race at the Thermal Club making it a perfect two-for-two to open the NTT IndyCar Series season. Palou’s move to win the race came with 10 to go as he got around pole sitter Pato O’Ward and then began to put distance between the two.
Palou began the race third and was able to duplicate his performance at the track for a second year. Behind Palou and O’Ward was Christian Lundgaard. Colton Herta and Felix Rosenqvist rounded out the top five.
The biggest mover of the race was Will Power who started 21st and moved up 15 spots to finish sixth.
